Indications for the procedure:

- underdevelopment of the breast due to disease,
- post-disease and postoperative breast deformities.
What does breast reconstruction with fat tissue involve?
Before the surgery:
A consultation with the plastic surgeon is recommended, during which the specialist doctor answers all the patient's questions and discusses the procedure details. The patient should bring previous test results relating to the condition to the consultation. Before the procedure itself a series of preoperative tests must be completed including an ECG (for patients over 40 years of age). Additionally, for a minimum of 10 days before the procedure blood-thinning agents (e.g. aspirin) must not be taken, and the procedure date should not be scheduled just before menstruation.
Type of anesthesia:
Intravenous or local.
Duration of the surgery:
From 1.5 to 3 hours.
Course of the surgery:
We harvest adipose tissue from the selected donor site and prepare it for transplant (it is possible to add platelet-rich plasma or stem cells, which further increase the survival rate of fat cells). The fat is then implanted into the area requiring reconstruction.
Example result of the surgery:
Hospital stay:
Several hours. The patient is then discharged in the care of an accompanying adult.
Postoperative recommendations:
Wearing a soft bra and compression garment at the fat donor site for approximately one month is
recommended. Scars are pinpoint and almost invisible.
Return to work is possible freely after
2–3 days.
Recovery time:
The final result is visible after 4–6 weeks.
