Before the inverted nipple correction procedure:

Before the procedure a consultation is necessary, during which the specialist doctor answers all the patient's questions. The required tests for the inverted nipple correction procedure are: full blood count, blood group, coagulation profile, HBs antigen, HCV. Additionally, for a minimum of 10 days before the procedure blood-thinning agents (e.g. aspirin) must not be taken.

Approximately 1 hour.

Course of the surgery:

There are various methods of performing the inverted nipple correction procedure. One involves cutting the ligaments anchoring the nipple to the mammary gland and elongating it by placing appropriate absorbable sutures.

Postoperative recommendations:

Dressing change takes place the following day. A check-up is required one week after the procedure. It is recommended to avoid compression of the nipples for several weeks.

Recovery time after nipple correction

The result is visible after approximately 2 weeks.

Complications

Loss of ability to breastfeed.
