Indications:
- Mole / nevus in a location that limits function,
- Mole / nevus qualified for excision following dermoscopic examination, etc.
Before the surgery:
Determining the location and size of the mole.
Type of anesthesia:
Local.
Duration of the surgery:
Depending on the size of the mole (approx. 40–60 min).
Course of the surgery:
Anesthesia. Excision. Layered wound closure.
Postoperative recommendations:
- Change dressing with clean hands
- Disinfect the operated area (wound) with a slightly moist gauze pad soaked in Octanisept solution or salicylic alcohol
- Do not wet the wound for the first 4 days
- Do not wash the area where strips/plasters are applied with soap, as this may cause the plasters to come off
- Suture removal on day 5–10 (depending on recommendations)
- Protect the scar from sun and sea water for 6 months
- Apply scar ointment no earlier than 3 weeks after suture removal
- Scar massage and use of a compression dressing no earlier than 3 weeks after suture removal
- Laser treatment on the scar is possible after complete wound healing (red scar stage)
Recovery time:
Sutures are removed after 5–10 (sometimes 14) days, depending on the location. Return to work is possible depending on the nature of the work and the location of the operation.
