Of course, the first step is to remember proper sun protection. On sunny summer days it is worth protecting the skin with creams with appropriate SPF filters, or covering sensitive areas with clothing. Sometimes, however, it is hard to avoid the consequences of excessive sun exposure. What then?
For those who want to visibly rejuvenate their skin and refresh its appearance, even out its tone and reduce troublesome discolorations, we offer photorejuvenation treatments using the modern Ellipse laser. IPL Ellipse laser photorejuvenation therapy allows for significant skin smoothing, and complete removal of age spots and redness.
Photorejuvenation – how does the Ellipse treatment work?
To rejuvenate selected areas, short and safe pulses of light (SWT technology – Selective Waveband Technology – developed by Ellipse, often referred to as a laser) are directed at the skin surface. The system filters the light to ensure that the wavelengths used are absorbed by haemoglobin and by melanin in age spots. When photorejuvenation is applied to cells containing large amounts of melanin or haemoglobin, the target vessel is heated and destroyed in just a few thousandths of a second.
Who is the photorejuvenation treatment for?
Nordlys by Ellipse photorejuvenation therapy is very effective in patients with fair skin and no tan at the time of treatment. The less tanned the skin, the greater the contrast between age spots, blood vessels and skin tone, and the greater and faster the effectiveness of the therapy. Ellipse specialists have also considered darker skin tones and the appropriate device settings allow rejuvenation for people with various skin types, thanks to the selection of the appropriate energy level for a specific skin type.
How long does the photorejuvenation treatment take and is it painful?
The photorejuvenation treatment on the face takes up to 20 minutes. Results are visible after the very first session with the Ellipse laser. However, to fully eliminate stubborn pigmentation spots and brighten the skin, giving it a radiant glow, three photorejuvenation sessions are typically needed. The procedure is, according to patient feedback, essentially painless. Individual light pulses are comparable to a snap of a rubber band. After the treatment, the patient experiences a sensation of warmth – comparable to spending a day at the beach.
Photorejuvenation – what are the post-procedure recommendations?
After photorejuvenation, the patient should avoid tanning (in the sun, in a solarium or using self-tanning cosmetics) both before and after the treatment. Tanned skin absorbs more light, which reduces the effectiveness of the therapy and increases potential discomfort during the procedure. After leaving the clinic, more sensitive patients are advised to apply a cooling compress, and all patients should use post-procedure ointments to reduce the sensation of warmth on irritated skin. Sun exposure should also be avoided for 30 days, and if this is not possible, skin protection with at least SPF 30 must be used.
Nordlys by Ellipse photorejuvenation treatments are completely safe and effective, as proven by clinical studies conducted by leading specialists.
Patient review:
I have used the facial treatments twice so far. They are essentially painless – only occasionally around the mouth area can you feel a slight unpleasant pricking sensation. During the treatment you wear protective goggles. My goal was to reduce or remove sun spots / freckles on my face. I rarely wear makeup, so I usually have no way to cover them with foundation. Immediately after the treatment the skin is slightly red. I used cooling and post-laser recovery cosmetics the same day and did not have to reschedule any social activities due to my appearance. I felt as if the skin was better tightened, but that was just a bonus, as my main concern was the pigmentation. First the “freckles” got darker, and after a few days they started to “peel off” – meaning without visible flaking, but simply washing off or wiping away. At the next session another batch was removed. The skin is not yet perfectly smooth, but I can see a definite improvement and I am very satisfied.”
